IN LOVING MEMORY OF A MORNING RUN

Running this morning I decided to divert from my usual route through Clissold Park. Running down Church Street I found the entrance to the enchanting Abney Park Cemetery. I’ll recommend taking a stroll there and watch how nature takes its course.

FOOD WASTE

Enough food to fill 11,720 double-decker buses or the Albert Hall 15 times over is chucked out in London every year.

It is estimated the average family wastes 50 each month by throwing out unused but edible food.

To raise awareness of the financial impact of throwing away food and encourage less waste, the Feed the 5.000 event took place friday.

It provided free lunch for 5,000 people using food that would otherwise have gone to waste such as fruit and vegetables which may not live up to the requirements of the super markets but is still perfectly edible.

Pretty good rice and curry.

FAMILIAR FACE

My first computer generated doodle. There’s a first for everything… but fortunately today I’ve stocked up on art supplies. Found this great art shop in Angel, so perfect, that my little designer heart skipped a beat or two.

ASSUMPTION IS THE MOTHER OF ALL FUCK-UPS

I’m not really pro…. or against for that matter…. but the conclusion after watching the videos documenting Shephard Fairey’s activities in Copenhagen must be “assumption is the mother of all fuck-ups”, and even though I really dig his art, I can’t help thinking that he comes off a bit naive, arrogant, full of himself and, just, err, American! I found the full set of videos here.  There are four parts, I chose the one with the 69 wall painting time-lapse video, and the discussions with people from the former Youth House.

PORTRAIT OF MY SISTER

I really miss my little sister. Here’s a portrait of her I did some years ago. She pretty, no?
